here's s'more

And Carter spent most of the time chopping at this stump.

Cally says it's only funny because I laugh at myself through the whole process of posting.
I do admit that I think I may be my biggest fan when it comes to my funny.  There is a lot of context in my head that you are ~ apparently ~ not privy to.  But just trust me,  I am a HOOT and laugh at my posts.
Be assured, I am bustin' my own gut.

I get it from my pop.
sho do.

the raw end of the stick

Hey sis...
malapropism \mal-uh-PROP-iz-uhm\, noun:
The usually unintentionally humorous misuse of a word, especially by confusion with one of similar sound; also, an example of such misuse.

Maddie picked this word off dictionary.com to 'stump' her teacher.

I told her we actually knew someone that was great at that!
Unintentionally, of course. That's the definition...
AND that's a cool web sight. Loads of laughs with the 6th grader.

a bloggers trip to NYC - a documentary project

To begin, I must note that the subject of my documentary was unaware of my intentions as I believe one can capture more natural actions and reactions that way.
This is kind of a silent documentary (except for a saftey note near the middle)
because a picture, you know, can paint a thousand words...

Now ~ we begin our journey into the vacation world of Blogger Calico

This was indeed a close call.

(It's a good thing the documentarian had watched the
safety videos on line before the trip and brought 'blogger Cally'
back behind the YELLOW line in the nic of time!)

And then I was kindly asked to knock it off...

So....

The End.

The idea for this documentary came up suddenly as I watched the blogger in Cally imediately present itself upon the initial stages of our trip.
She is so fun to watch and be with.
I love watching her appreciate colors, textures, people and of course delicious food.

Cute girl.

love ya!

big city, fun times

Jaden Boy! Such a sweet beautiful boy.
Cally - There's the Radio City Music Hall.
Corrie - Where?
Cally - right there.
Corrie - Where? I don't see anything.
Cally - Follow my finger. That neon sign that says Radio City Music Hall right in front of us.
Corrie - Oh! I see it! That's it?

(repeat discussion substituting almost every landmark we visited! I had the hardest time seeing those things! I felt a little ditsy. Cally was very patient with me.)

We missed the Empire State building. Did we pass it? Wait - what does that banner on that building across the street say?

Oh...there it is. It was hard to recognize from where we were standing. Never mind the banners.

Wow! Tall building. And to think we were standing right across from it wondering where it was for 5 minutes!

That can't be it! It had lions! Where are the lions?

We walked a couple more blocks in confusion when we saw the lions!
I knew there were lions. We had the wrong building the first time.
suprise, suprise

And there is the Statue of Liberty!
Well, A statue of liberty.

Central Park was super!

So beautiful.

With a castle! It's actually a weather station now, but still cool.
- and tree shade.

walking around - in search of Balto.

A rare look at cranky cally.

She LOVES the subway and all its unpredictability, adventure and down right splendor.

What she really loves is my enjoyment of gathering materials for my documentary

"A Bloggers Trip to New York City!"
(coming soon to a blog site near you!)
...the coolest door. jd found it.
Neat things to look at around every corner in that huge, busy, fascinating city.
