So Brian got the stuff to put up a swing. He get's excited about projects.
Can you see the beam up there? WAY UP THERE?
I had Erin go stand by the tree
so you could get an idea of how high up the beam has been bolted to the trees.
I'm telling you. When I am upstairs in Erin's room,
I look out her window and the beam is at eye level!
The 2x4 you see nailed to the beam was to help us hold the beam up so he could screw the first bolt in and then we had to use the 2x4 to get the end of the beam to the other tree.
Brian says the higher the more fun.
I still think it's too high.
But, maybe he's right. It'll probably be a blast.
I may have the kids wear helmets when they use it so if they don't swing very straight and they smash into a tree trunk at least their heads will be somewhat protected.
We still have to finish getting the bolts all the way in and then it's flying time!
I'll keep you posted.

Wheeeeee- that would be scarry. Helmets, good idea.
whoa baby.
he doesn't play games.
How 'bout a pool heater.
That AWESOME! Is that your backyard? It's so pretty! You should charge neighbor kids to come over and use it. Just make sure they wear a helmet AND sign a waiver...
uh, yeah, higher = better, duh!
I think the helmets are a wonderful idea. Sounds really fun. love and miss you
I think this is the best thing I have ever seen. Perhaps a couple feet higher would be OK as well.
When does the zip-line go in?
At least its not a zip line. Ask Brian if he remembers what my dad did on the zip line about 20 years ago. Not pretty and not smart.
Corrie!!! I miss you my dear sweet little babysitter! Every year I plan on getting Christmas cards out - and unlike you - I NEVER do. Life is too weird and hectic for me these days. I desperately want to call you and talk with you. You and Brian have absolutely adorable children - I am so proud of you. I also want to send you a bunch of pictures of my GIANT children (not in girth - just in length) and so I will try to do that this month. Thank you for continuing to send me your cards each year. We have moved - one of the reasons I wanted cards out this year - so I will send you all our new info. Love, Kathy Gulbrandsen
