heirlooms and cool stuff

My momma is a tatter.  Oh yes indeed!  And this last visit my sisters and I made requests.  I wanted more snowflakes for my Christmas tree and Cally thinks mom could sell her tatting on Etsy pretty easily.
So mom brought stacks and stacks of tatting for us to divide up amongst each other.
Look what I did with some of my pieces!!!

I've got some more and just need frames.  I'm not sure if I'm going to leave them there on the mantle or put them on a wall somewhere...I have decorating issues.  But Pretty!  right?!

In further news...
I am almost through five days of being a jaunty 35 years old.  Felling pretty good so far.  My hearing is going and my vision blurring a little but that's to be expected, right?  I do think however my cranky old lady persona could have waited a few more years before manifesting itself.

So here are some of the wonderful things I got for my birthday.  It was a very good year for me.

A beautiful bejewled ring from Miss Erin.  Very lovely.

Do I even need to say anything about this one?  They know what momma likes!

We have a few favorite movie posters in the basement so this one was a must.

Heidi and Eden brought me over these two things of beauty.  A scarf to keep my neck warm and a pie to keep my belly warm.  Miss Eden insisted on the owl.  She knows I love owls.

Those two keep my heart warm.  Awwwww.  I know.  I'm good with words.

I made creme brulee for my sister and had to use my husbands huge propane torch to crystalize the top.  It was a little unstable and would flare randomly thus sometimes burning the sugar a little too much.  She found me the torch pictured above.  And a great book of a bunch of different creme brulee recipes.  Perfect!
